It’s been an awfully long time since my last wedding photography blog and today happens to be the day to start the long process on catching up with some wonderful weddings from the year gone by. The first wedding among quite a few is that of Zoe & James (and I’ll take the opportunity early on to add their adorable daughter Niyah onto the list of most important people!)
Zoe & James (and possibly Niyah) chose the 16th century Rumbolds Farm near Petworth as their wedding venue. It’s a 16th century barn attached to a farm surrounded by ancient Surrey woodland. There’s horses in the fields from the working stud farm and the little track leading up to the wedding venue lets you know it’s going to be somewhere memorable for wedding photography in a pretty awesome way. It’s got everything from the old oak timbers to the stone courtyard and the most beautiful gardens, an instant winner besides wedding venues of tiled ceilings in which to photograph weddings. What makes this wedding in September the top trump in the pack is the armfuls of children. Under tables, on top of feet – everywhere. More often than not I’ll ask wedding clients if just perhaps there might be a couple of children at the wedding in the quite hope they’ll say ‘Oh yes, they’ll be everywhere’.
As a wedding photographer, kids make an awesome choice when the oldies settle down for a pint in the protection of a sofa or when the wedding sensibility to alcohol ratio has yet to kick in come evening. They’ll always be the first on the dance floor, the first to hold hands and the first to impress you with funny fart noises from balloons during the speeches.
Rumbolds Farm only do a select amount of weddings each year (I think that would be because someone lives next to the barn), so if your looking for a wedding venue without tiled ceilings and somewhere, well, near on perfect for wedding photography, It would be a good idea to put this place near the start of your viewings.
We hope you enjoy the following selection of pictures from the the wedding of Zoe, James & Niyah as much as we enjoyed being their wedding photographers. We’ve bundled on a few pictures from our Mighty PhotoBooth where the guests went the extra distance with cheese and grapes and so on. Nurses as I know from experience are only one drink from being the most perfect PhotoBooth guests. 🙂
